inspiration for this project started from wave motion. In my research I tried to understand how motion affects our thoughts and how our thoughts affect our motions.
Details are smudged and smeared producing erasure and unification.
I developed a technique where the knit is like a second skin. fabric details follow the motion of the body reflected from the knit
.
I developed a transition between woven and knitted.
Some parts are more elastic, providing comfort.
Others are more rigid, to provide structure and fluidity.
The combination of woven and knitted is seamless, because entire garment is made from the same thread woven to different elasticity.
Details are created within the fabric; affect each other.
Fabrics were developed with specific weight, texture and color to match the design. These fabrics were made, knitted and woven in Shenkar using industrial machines.
The garments were created from a thread as the raw material, painted, knitted and woven by me.
Where does the body end and the garment begin?
